Little Miracles

Nick Knowles and the team made an extra special event happen in Peterborough! When GKL received a call from BBC's DIY SOS production team we had no idea at the speed and scale of their ambitions for Spinney Play Centre in the Ravensphorpe area of Peterborough, for a special Children in Need version of the show. Spinney House has been neglected for a number of years and due to local government cutbacks the centre faced an uncertain future. Phil Hopkins, James Brackenbury and Eamonn Killoughery  from GKL Group looked at requirements and decided to give it go and get on board with dozens of local workmen and businesses and show what construction companies in Peterborough can do.

The outcome has been incredible from a personal, community and production perspective. Despite rain we did meet our schedule and the new centre is incredible. The good feeling that went into the work gives the new building character and instant soul.
