Steve joined GKL Group in 2008 as an Assistant Buyer and was promoted to Group Procurement Manager in 2010. Steve’s primary role is to lead GKL Groups busy Procurement department and to ensure the best quality products, goods & services are purchased at the most competitive prices.
Steve has worked within the construction industry for more than 15 years, with previous positions within the supply sectors including personal protective equipment, scaffolding and access equipment, non-mechanical plant and, most recently, sales and management-based roles in the builders’ merchant industry. His previous roles have armed him with a wealth of supply chain and product knowledge within the building and civil engineering industry.
When Steve is not focusing on the procurement aspect of his role he is heavily involved with the IT requirements for the business.
Away from work Steve loves nothing more than spending quality time with his family, ensuring we make the most of our spare time with outdoor activities, holidays and a variety of other interests (mainly focussed around his two children). Steve has been learning to play Spanish Classical guitar with his daughter since January 2015 and his son also joined them in April of this year as well.
When he needs some ‘me’ time, this is usually spent discovering interesting places on his motorcycle around the local area.
