JOB TITLE: Site Manager for Residential Development
SALARY & BENEFITS: Negotiable dependent upon experience
WORKING HOURS: 7:30am – 5.00pm – Monday to Friday

Due to continued expansion, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a site manager to oversee and run a new residential development of 33 one and two-bedroom apartments in the market town of Whittlesey, near Peterborough.

You will join a small and dedicated team with overall responsibility for the day to day management of a busy residential development.

Key Responsibilities of Site Manager:

  • Overall responsibility for the day to day running of a busy building site
  • Responsible for all health and safety on site, including the production of method statements, risk assessments, COSHH assessments, traffic management plans and updating the CPHSP as required
  • Monitoring, updating and adherence to programme of works
  • Responsible for coordinating, managing and supervising direct labour and sub contract trades
  • Ensuring that the highest quality is always produced
  • Responsible for materials call off and reconciliation, minimising waste and damage
  • Completing plant and goods returns on a weekly basis
  • Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
  • Liaison with professional teams (architect, structural engineer, M&E, building control) as required
  • Chairing weekly site and coordination meetings
  • Good commercial understanding



We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who has a proven track record within the building sector. The right candidate will possess strong management skills with the ability to organise direct labour and sub contract trades to achieve programme deadlines whilst delivering the best quality.

The right candidate will have an eye for detail and enjoy working as part of a small team. You should have a good level of general education and excellent knowledge of using MS Office
including Word and Excel. Experience in using project programming software (such as CS Project) is also preferred.
Formal health and safety and first aid training are also essential.

Key experience and training essential for the Site Manager role:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in managing residential building projects
  • First Aid training
  • Scaffold inspection certification
  • Minimum of SMSTS or equivalent
  • Good MS Office skills (word/excel/outlook)
  • Programming software (CS Project or similar)
  • Full, clean driving license
