GKL has recently taken delivery of six large tracked excavators from Hyundai Construction Equipment through their regional dealer Willowbrook Plant Services.

The new acquisitions have been made to replace some existing stock but also to add to the fleet in order to service the Group’s current and forthcoming earthworks, infrastructure and construction projects.

GKL Group buyers spent 12 weeks reviewing different options and manufacturers before finally deciding to proceed with the Hyundai’s initially purchasing four 21 tonne R210LC-9 Tracked Excavators and the latest 30 tonne R300LC-9A Hyundai series Tracked Excavators.

GKL Group will initially put the Hyundai excavators to work on their £6m Stanway Western Relief Road Project in Colchester and their on-going infrastructure and construction projects in the south-east of England.

Approval for the final order came from GKL Group Director James Brackenbury who went onto explain: “Our business is heavily reliant on having the right equipment to do the job, on time and with as little technical fixes and down time as possible, delays can cost the company thousands in lost revenue so this is an investment we took seriously. Another key factor in our decision process was that of fuel efficiency and this is an area where Hyundai was able to demonstrate its excellence. With the current ever rising cost of diesel this played a large part in the whole life cycle cost evaluation of owning the equipment and heavily influenced which manufacturer we went with”.

GKL Group expects to continued investment on equipment to service both current projects and future works and also as natural replacement of existing assets that have reached the end of their practical working cycle with the GKL Group.
