GKL Group has been engaged by O&H Hampton to provide the infrastructure works to a new highway network which will eventually provide a bypass around the Hampton development.  A fundemental aspect of the early works was to provide measures to help in the preservation of the Great Crested Newt at Hampton Peterborough.  These works consist of the construction and installation of a series of underground culverts which will allow the free passage and migration of the colony of 33,000 Great Crested Newt underneath the bypass once completed and operational.

Currently two of the seven culverts have been constructed one which was pre cast concrete units 3m wide by 2m high and the second a corrugated steel structure which was constructed in-situ by our in house skilled operatives.  The remaining five concrete culverts will be installed during the remainder of 2012.
